Dorothy Woodall

Dorothy Hylton Woodall, 86, formerly of Westridge Farms, Danville, VA died on February 14, 2011 in Roman Eagle Memorial Home after being in declining health for several years. Mrs. Woodall was born in Danville, VA on February 2, 1925 a daughter of the late Charles D. Hylton and Elsie Owen Hylton. She was a graduate of the former Brosville High School, Class of 1943. Mrs. Woodall had worked for the former Dan River Inc. as a Time Keeper supervisor for over 25 years until her retirement due to health reasons. She was a member of Brosville United Methodist Church where she had served as President of the U.M.W. She was very active in the church as long as her health permitted. On July 20, 1947 she was married to Robert M. Woodall Sr. who survives of Danville. She is also survived by one son, Robert M. Woodall Jr. of Danville, VA, three daughters Sandra Woodall Hamilton of Greensboro, NC, Karen Woodall Ward & husband Anthony and Sharron Woodall Burke & husband Edward all of Danville, VA, one brother Bobby J. Hylton & wife Judy of Danville, VA, Kitty H. Strange & husband Aubrey of Greensboro, NC, Dove H. McCall of Rocky Mount, VA and Hilda H. Blair & husband W.T. of Danville, VA, six grandchildren, Robert M. ?Robbie? Woodall III, Patrick Edward Woodall, Michael Wade Woodall, Tamara Ward Kotronis, Ashley Cristina Burke and Ryan Taylor Burke, five great grandchildren, Conner Robert Woodall, Mallory Elizabeth Woodall, Jasper Edward Woodall, Zoe Kotronis and Sophia Kotronis, two sister-in-laws, Ginny Ashworth Hylton and Sylvia Hylton. Mrs. Woodall was predeceased by a grandson, Eben Phillip Ward and two brothers, C.D. Hylton, Jr., Vernon Hylton and a brother-in-law, Doug McCall. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Brosville United Methodist Church by the Pastor Jeffrey Harlow. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive fiends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service and at other times they will be at the residence of Robert M. Woodall, Jr., 223 Salisbury Circle, Danville, VA in Wyndemere Villas. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Roman Eagle Memorial Home and her loving room mate Mrs. Hunt for all of their kindness and support given to the Woodall family. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA 24541.
