Danny Ray Adkins

Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever” Danny Ray Adkins, 53, of Yanceyville, NC went to his heavenly home on July 18, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. Danny wishes were to have no funeral service. Danny was born in Danville, Va., on September 26, 1970 to the late Percy Dewey Adkins, Jr. and Bettie Thornton Adkins. Growing up on a farm, Danny loved riding his dirt bikes, spending time at the river, playing pranks on his siblings, and just loving life. He spent most Saturday’s at the Roll-A-bout with his friends, listening to loud music. After finishing school at Stoneville High, he had several jobs including Stoneville Furniture, Construction, Captain Mac’s, and Eden Yarns. Eden Yarns was his favorite place to work, as he worked alongside his sister Brenda. When he briefly lived in Rock Hill, SC he worked with his sister Leisa at Muller Belton. Danny loved his muscle cars from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, listening to his music, mowing his yard and spending time with his family and friends. He had a huge heart, and loved to help others. Danny loved his dog Rukie Bird (aka Dodo) and joking around. Family gatherings were his favorite. He loved to laugh, he had an infectious laughter that moved to every person in the room. He brightened everyones day that he came in contact with. Danny will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Children, Bridget Bailey of Ridgeway, Va., Grandchildren, Lilee Farmer of Ridgeway, Va., one aunt, one uncle and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends, David Mays, Robie Stanley from Eden, NC, Kin Watlington, Jessee Tabor and Jinny Taylor from Yanceyville, NC. In addition to his parents, Danny is predeceased in death by his brother, Jerry Wayne Adkins, Sr., sister, Deborah Kirks Waldens, nephew, Jerry Wayne Adkins, Jr., and brother-in-law John Taylor.
