In Loving Memory of Darrell Wiseman With heavy hearts, we share that Darrell Wiseman, 87, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on Friday, February 13, 2026, at home, surrounded by his family. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at River Oak Church of God with Pastor Tim Nuckles officiating and Mr. Butch Capps and Mr. Richard Wheat speaking. Interment will follow privately with the family at Mount Hope Cemetery in Florence, South Carolina. Dad was born on September 3, 1938, in West Virginia to Jessie Wardie Wiseman and Elizabeth Irene Leadingham Wiseman. From humble beginnings, he built a life marked by faith, resilience, and unwavering devotion to his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. On October 10, 1968, he married the love of his life, Mary Lee Elizabeth Peele. Their marriage has been a beautiful partnership built on faith, loyalty, and deep love. For over six decades, Dad devoted his life to the automotive industry, including more than 50 years with Toyota. He owned and operated Danville Toyota for 42 years. He also had a Toyota dealership in Florida, as well as a lasting legacy in Newport News, Virginia. To him, the business was never just about cars — it was about people. He led with integrity, invested in his employees, and cared deeply for his community. Above every accomplishment, he was a man of strong faith and deep conviction. He and Mom faithfully attended River Oak Church of God and later Mercy Crossing. His faith guided his life, and we take comfort knowing it carried him home. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; his children, Ryan O’Neal Wiseman; Tracie Leigh Wiseman-Scearce (Gary); and Teresa Leigh Wiseman (Lee Wood); his grandchildren, Stephen Darrell Scearce and Sarah Ashleigh Scearce; and his brother, Gene Wiseman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Darrell Wiseman, Jr.; his daughter, Wendi Wiseman; and his brother, Jimmy Wiseman. We are deeply grateful to the extended family of caregivers, both past and present, under the direction of Barbara Stanfield, for their faithful care and compassion. Though our hearts are heavy, we praise God for welcoming him into his heavenly home. His legacy of faith, leadership, and love will continue to guide our family for generations to come.
