Dorothy Â?DotÂ? Megginson Weatherford, 88, of Lexington Ave. died on Friday, August 14, 2009 in Kindred Hospital, Greensboro NC after a decline in health for several months. Born September 27, 1920 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Arch B. Megginson and Viola Gaines Megginson. She lived her early years in what is now referred to as the Westover area but lived most of her life in the Glenwood Community. After lifelong service at Dan River Mills she retired in 1982. She was also a hair stylist for a number of years at Violas Beauty Salon in Glenwood. She was of the Holiness faith. In addition to her husband, Doctor D. Weatherford, Jr. of the residence, she is survived by a daughter, Judith Ann Wade and her husband Jimmy of Blue Ridge, VA, a granddaughter, Kathy Booth Cartee of Virginia Beach, VA, a step-granddaughter, Lisa Michelle Light, of Greensboro, NC, a step-grandson, Jimmy Wade, Jr. of Randleman, NC, a great-granddaughter, Lauren S. McKee and her husband Matt of Valrico, FL, a great-grandson, Justin T. Cerna and his friend Mari Peg of Virginia Beach, VA , step-great-granddaughters, Brianna Wade and Kimberly Watson, both of Greensboro, NC, Fresia Sams of Randleman, NC, step-great-grandsons, Kevin Penley of Greensboro, NC, Josh Wade of Randleman, NC, a great-great-grandson, Nicholas Brian McKee of Valrico, FL, a step-great-grandson, Ethan Sams of Randleman, NC, a Brother, Willard C. Megginson and his wife Annie of Apoka,FL, her beloved nieces Sarah, Carolyn, Trudy, Judy, and Monica, her beloved nephews, Jimmy S., Jeff, Brian, Kenny, Jimmy W., and Alan, many other beloved family members. She was predeceased by a brother, James A. Megginson of Waynesboro, VA and a niece, Joy Tolleson of Chesterfield, VA. Dot was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. from the graveside in Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Carl Burger officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7:00-8:30 P.M. at Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel and other times at the residence.
