Linda Jeffries Jackson

Linda Gail Jeffries Jackson, 83, of 426 Clarkson Drive, Danville, VA went home to be with her Lord on Friday, May 3, 2024 at her residence after being in declining health for the last five years. Linda was born on October 4, 1940, in Danville, VA a daughter of the late Willard S. Jeffries and Daisy Jefferson Jeffries. Having lived her entire life in the Danville area, she pursued her education at Longwood College. Her professional journey began as a secretary at Tunstall High School, where she dedicated several years. She later assumed a managerial position at Ben David Jewelers before eventually retiring from the Gingerbread House. Linda was known for her sociable nature, easily making friends wherever she went. She found joy in traveling and frequently dined out with friends. Gardening and tending to the yard alongside her husband, Ted, were activities they both enjoyed. They shared a love for travel as well. Linda also found pleasure in decorating, playing the piano, and singing. Above all, her favorite pastime was spending time with her beloved grandchildren and watching them play sports. She attended both Hillcrest Baptist Church and Saint Luke’s United Methodist Church when she was able. On January 23, 1999 she married Theodore “Ted” Jackson, Sr. who survives of the residence. In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by her sons, Jeff Huffman (Lisa) and Craig Huffman; her daughters, Mitzi Wood (James) and Melissa Clarke (Charles); her loving grandchildren: Brandi, Raegan, Megan, Michael, Jaime, Jon, Kayla, and Ryan; her great grandchildren, Mason, Charlee, Clara, Wyatt, Chloe, Hayden, Harper, and Reese; a sister, Rosalind Cooper (David); a special niece, Jeannie Green (Horace); a special, dedicated friend, Michelle Moser. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Pastor Daryl Joyce officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence, 426 Clarkson Drive, Danville, VA 24540. Memorial donations can be made to the Pittsylvania County Pet Center 11880 US-29, Chatham, VA 24531 or to an animal shelter of your choice. The family would like to extend their love and gratitude to Alisha, Lisa, and Jennifer with Commonwealth Hospice for their dignified and professional care given to Linda and her family during this difficult time.
