Patricia Ann Harper

Patricia Ann Harper of Danville, VA went to be with Jesus on April 26, 2023 while at home with her family. She was born February 16, 1946 in Barberton, OH. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and faithful husband of 58 years, Danny, and her beloved children Steve (Mary) of Virginia Beach and Amy Summy (Mike) of Lynchburg. She was adored by her grandchildren Elizabeth Kearney (Tim), Christian Summy, Caroline Harper, Amber Summy, Steven Harper, and Brennan Summy. Pat also leaves 3 sisters Nancy Pfromm (Rich) of Ravenna OH, Pam Stow (David) of Cornelia GA, and Sandi Biggie of Massillon, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her mother and father Ralph and Mary Baker and her brothers Dennis Baker, Jerry Baker, and Ronnie Baker. A follower of Jesus since 1972, Pat began her journey of faith at Lakemore United Methodist Church in Akron OH. She was an active member of The Tabernacle for 45 years where she served faithfully in the choir, library, children’s ministry, women’s ministry, and Good News Club, an outreach to elementary schools in the community. If you knew her, you loved her and you knew she loved you. She regularly shared the love of Jesus with those she met, even in her last days of battling cancer. She was a prayer warrior and constant encouragement to her family and friends. She enjoyed studying the Bible, gardening, crafting, scrapbooking, reading, playing games and most of all spending time with all of her family. Pat also loved to travel with Dan, the love of her life, and they visited many destinations with her favorite place being Gatlinburg, TN. She and Dan travelled many miles to watch their grandkids participate in sports and music activities. Her family is grateful for all of the prayers and support given on her behalf. God blessed Pat’s last days with care by Commonwealth Hospice through the many nurses and aides that cared for her and provided excellent care and compassion. A celebration of Pat’s life will take place on Monday, May 1, 1:00 PM at The Tabernacle, 1978 South Boston Road, Danville. Her family will receive friends prior to the celebration at The Tabernacle beginning at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 1665 South Boston Road, Danville.
