Robert "Bob" Kelly Richardson, Jr.

Robert Kelly (Bob) Richardson, Jr, 72, went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2024 after a brief illness. Bob was born in Danville, VA on December 10, 1951 a son to the late Robert Kelly Richardson, Sr. and Annie Tate Richardson. He had lived all of his life in the Ringgold Community of Pittsylvania County where he attended Dan River High School. Bob had worked for Apac -Thompson Arthur for 40 plus years where he retired as a Superintendent. He was a member of the Lakewood Community Church where he was a former choir member and he attended the Norlina United Methodist Church in Norlina, NC. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, he loved fishing, hunting with the Pitt County Hunting Club, watching Nascar Short Track Racing, watching Gunsmoke and he was an avid Cowboy Football Fan. He served many years as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Ringgold Fire Department and was still active as a Life Time Member. On October 13, 1973 Bob married Rebecca Ann (Becky) Paul who went home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2010. Bob later married Donna Yancey Richardson on June 10, 2017 who survives of the residence in Norlina, NC. Bob is survived by one son, Robbie Richardson, Sr. (Donna), one daughter, Kelly Sue Richardson Chapell, (Robert) all of Ringgold, VA, one brother, Ronnie Richardson, (Delores) of Ringgold, VA, one sister, Carolyn Weatherford, (Tommy) of Statesville, NC, three grandchildren, Lauren Richardson, R.J. Richardson and Isaiah Chapell, two nieces, Stormy Richardson, Denise Slaughter, one nephew, Gordan Richardson and his two best friends, Dixie and Murrell. He was predeceased by one brother & sister in law, Dennis Glenn Richardson and Kimberly Cocke Richardson. Funeral Services for Bob will be conducted on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Lakewood Community Church by Pastor Ryan Call and Pastor Jimmy Burks. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel and at other times they will be at the residence of Robbie & Donna Richardson, 1037 Ringgold, Depot Road, Ringgold, VA 24586.
