S "Red" Clark

S.O. Â?RedÂ? Clark, of Danville, Virginia went home to be with his Heavenly Father Monday, February 9, 2009 at Duke University Medical Center. He was born to two wonderful parents, Ruby Reid Clark and Ellis Manson Clark on August 29, 1944. Both whom predeceased him. He is survived by two brothers, Charles Clark and Norman Clark, both of Stoneville, NC; five children, Angela M. Wyatt of Danville, VA, Teresa Wall of Charlottesville, VA, William Gauldin of Danville, VA, Cheryl Evans of Danville, VA and Terry Hill of Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren, Dusty Wall, Dawn Jones, Tiffany Wyatt, Amanda Wall, Kevin, Kristin and Kenny Evans, and Lisa Gauldin. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, by his former wife, Gail Clark of Pelham, NC, and by many many friends. He really enjoyed his time at HardeeÂ?s and McDonaldÂ?s drinking coffee with his buddies and sharing the gospel. Also all of his friends at the Coin Shops. He was a former member of the National Guard. He sold insurance for many years until his retirement in 1990 when he had a heart transplant and a kidney transplant in 2003 which was donated to him by his loving daughter Angela. He was an avid coin collector. Buying and selling coins was one of his greatest loves. But his greatest love of all was serving the Lord Jesus Christ. He was an active member and usher at Faith Memorial Baptist Church. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Daniel Lackey and the Reverend Austin Merricks officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7:00 Â? 8:30 P.M. at Wrenn-Yeatts, Westover Chapel and at other times at the home of his daughter, 133 Kayewood Lane, Apt. 3, Danville, VA, off of Westover Drive. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Danville Cancer Association, 2323 Riverside Dr., Suite J, Danville, VA 24540 or to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, SW suite 115, Roanoke, VA 24014.
