Shirley Ann Linens

Shirley Ann Linens, 85, of Shumate Street, Danville, VA passed peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2024 surrounded by her family at home. She was born in Halifax County, VA on May 20, 1939, a daughter of the late Norman Davis and Beatrice Shaw Davis. Mrs. Linens spent most of her life in the Danville area where she worked for Dan River Mills until her retirement after 33 years. Over the years, she was a very active member of the Church of the Nazarene and Trinity Methodist Church. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. Survivors include her sons, Robert Linens (Cindy) of Keeling, VA; David Linens (Darryll) of Nashville, TN; daughters, Teresa Terry of Danville, VA; Vicki Bailey (Mark) of Virginia Beach, VA; Charlene Axsom (Rodney) of Southport, NC; grandchildren, Christie O’Toole (Kevin) of Virginia Beach, VA; Jessica Weaver (Christopher) of Blairs, VA; Cody Murphy, of Danville, VA; great grandchildren, Taylor Weatherford, Jaeden O’Toole, Naomi O’Toole, Finn O’Toole, Freya O’Toole, Elijah O’Toole of Virginia Beach, VA; Alexis Newby, Leonittas Weaver, Hayden Weaver, Kaylee Weaver of Blairs, VA; and brother, Frank Davis (Joan) of Blairs, VA. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Linens was predeceased by her brothers, Kent and Henry Davis and sister Earlene Dodson. The family would like to thank mom’s special friend, Justine Gibson, for her loyal love, care and support and the Amedisys Home Health Hospice. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Pastor Jeff Lynch officiating. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel.
