Thomas Jackson Campbell

It is with a sad and heavy heart that we must say goodbye for now to Thomas J. Campbell, loving Husband, Daddy, and Papa, of Danville, VA. He returned to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 28, 2021 at the age of 82. Always bringing fun and laughter to everyone he met, Tommy truly lived Proverbs 17:22 (KJV) – “a merry heart doeth good like medicine…” Always the quick witted jokester, our memories of his humor will bring much comfort in the difficult days ahead. He will be forever remembered by his beautiful wife, Carolyn, who was the love of his life. He leaves behind four sons, Jack L. Aaron (Wife Connie), Mark D. Aaron (wife Cristi), all of Danville, VA., Michael J. Campbell (wife Lina), of New Jersey, and Tom J. Campbell, of Texas. He also leaves behind 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren, which he held a special loving place for in his heart. Last, but not least, was his devoted best friend, his beloved dog, Princess, who predeceased him. He was predeceased by his parents, the late John E. and Ava Campbell, two brothers, Kenneth and Glenn Campbell, one sister, Cleo George, and one daughter, Catherine Campbell. He is survived by his brother, Milton Campbell, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and his sister, Bonnie Mullins of Moneta, VA. Tommy was a member of White Oak Worship Center, Blairs, VA. He retired from UPS after many years of service, achieving the prestigious million mile award. He proudly served four years in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of Roman Eagle Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 325. Tommy spent 22 years living at Smith Mountain Lake where he loved spending time with his wife, sheltie as well as family and friends. One of his many joys was being outside and always working on projects. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Reverend Roger Ewing officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park with military honors by the U.S. Air Force honor guard. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the funeral home from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence.
