Timothy Ray Francisco

Timothy Ray Francisco, 65, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at his residence in Danville, Virginia. Tim was born in Danville on February 17, 1961, a son of the late Jack David Francisco Sr. and Hazel Barksdale Francisco. On October 19, 1985, he married the love of his life, Jo Anne Dunevant Francisco, and they enjoyed 40 wonderful years together. Tim was a firm believer in Christ. He was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church, where he spent many years serving as a deacon, teaching Sunday School, and working with the youth. He could be found every morning drinking his coffee and reading his bible. Tim worked in the maintenance department at Goodyear, where he retired after over thirty years of service. He was happiest, however, when spending time outdoors in his garden, planting flowers, or feeding the deer and birds. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed early mornings at Buggs Island Lake with his fishing buddies. He loved fishing in tournaments with his son, Zach, where they won countless tournaments over the years. Tim also loved to cook for his family. He frequently prepared meals for everyone so they could all gather together and enjoy each other’s company. Tim was known as “Pots” to his four beloved grandchildren, and spent his time attending their baseball games, school programs, and introducing them to a love of the great outdoors. In the words of his grandson, “He made life so exciting.” Tim is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Francisco; his two children, Zachary Evans Francisco (Mary Katherine) and Heather Francisco (Ethan Anderson); four grandchildren, Greer, Evans, Axel, and Judson; two sisters, Gloria McGee (Daryl) and Phyllis Neill; and many nephews. In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by a brother, Jack David Francisco, Jr.; a sister, Elaine Sears; and nephews, Keith and Kevin Neill. He is also predeceased by his four-legged best friends, Jose, Chief, and Zeike, who brought him unimaginable joy over the years. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Faith Memorial Baptist. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Faith Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Lackey, Pastor Seth Lackey and Pastor Austin Merricks officiating.
