Yvonne Marie Farmer

With heavy hearts and profound love, we sadly announce the passing of Yvonne Marie Farmer (Dunn) on May 11, 2025. Born in Danville, Virginia, on August 16, 1946, Yvonne was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and the beloved matriarch of our family. Yvonne’s life was a testament to grace, compassion, and unshakable faith. She will be remembered for her sunny disposition, her strength through life’s trials, and her unwavering dedication to her family and community. To know Yvonne was to be welcomed with warmth and kindness—a reflection of the love she poured so freely into the lives of others. She is survived by her husband, Claude (Henry) David Farmer; her children, Gary James Lynch (Kelly) Oklahoma; Malinda Kaye Silverman (Harris) Ringgold, and a cherished legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. She now joins her youngest daughter, Tina Marie Lynch Wray, who preceded her in death. Yvonne’s gift of hospitality touched many. Known for her heartfelt ministry through food, she was often the first to arrive at church to brew the coffee and prepare the welcome table. Her home was a sanctuary where family and friends gathered for joyful Sunday dinners and meaningful conversation. Her legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Services to honor and celebrate Yvonne’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel in Danville, Virginia. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Pastor Larry Davis of Arbor Baptist Church will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service and at other times at the residence of her daughter, Malinda Silverman. The family invites donations in Yvonne’s memory to an organization close to her heart, such as Ringgold Fire Department. Yvonne's love was a guiding light for her family and community. Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in the knowledge that her legacy will continue in the lives she touched. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Farmer family.
