Tony Terry

Tony Kevin Terry, 42 of 3800 Whitmell School Road passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010 at UVA Medical Center where he had been a patient for the past 10 days. Mr. Terry was born on August 4, 1967 in Danville, VA the son of the late David Terry and Marthy Terry who survives. He spent all of his life in the Ringgold and Whitmell communities where he worked for the former Danville Lumber Company for 22 years. He was a graduate of Dan River High School Class of 1985, an avid Andy Griffith fan and a very skilled wood worker. He was a member of Whitmell Christian Church. On October 6, 1990 Mr. Terry married Robyn Holland Terry. In addition to his wife of the residence and his mother of Ringgold, VA he is survived by one son, Cody of the residence; one daughter, Brittany of the residence; one brother, Dave Terry and his wife Kitty, of Richmond, VA; a father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Faye Holland of Dry Fork, VA; one sister-in-law, Angela Walker and her husband Randy of Dry Fork, VA; four nephews, Matt Terry and his wife Jessie, Ben Terry, Lea Turner, and Jason Turner; one step nephew, J.D. Walker; one step niece, Chasty Polk; and two great step nieces, Mackenzie Polk and Autumn Polk. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Minister Tim Oakes officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Scarce Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 21,2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the residence, 3800 Whitmell School Road. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Whitmell Christian Church at 2064 Whitmell School Road, Dry Fork VA 24549, Tunstall Fire and Rescue at PO Box 575, Danville VA 24543, or to the Danville Speech and Hearing at 742 Wilson Street, Danville VA 24541. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Staff of Danville Speech and Hearing, an extra special thanks to Dr. Nina Solenski, the UVA Stroke Center, and the UVA Medical Center.
